Spring update

Posted on April 19, 2013 - 5:00pm CST

I got my ARBA Registrar's license in the mail today, so when my applications come I can officially register rabbits if they meet requirements.

The Lawrenceburg, TN show on April 6th was really nice. I won BOB under both shows with Kim's Sakura (who now has 10 GC legs.) She even got an honorable mention for BIS in show 2, so that was exciting. I am hoping to start breeding her this spring.

I updated my Sale Page today with a new junior buck that'll be weaned towards the end of the month.

Huntsville show was awesome!

The Rocket City Rabbit Club hosted their first Double Open, Double Youth show yesterday at the Agribition Center on Moores Mill Road in Huntsville. I was the Superintendent and kept things running, while we had a spectacular secretary (Rebecca Blanks) and many wonderful helpers including Don Barnhart, Tim Wiley, Pat and Laura, Karin Humfleet and more. The show ran like clockwork with no problems and the club was able to pay for all expenses and have a nice amount left over for next time. We are hoping to have a fall show this year (if we can find an open date) and a spring show each year.

Yesterday I won BOS in Hollands with two different home-bred does. First show Kim's Fu got BOS (tort SR Doe) and in the second show Kim's Saki (tort JR doe) won BOS too. I am not sure how the others did as I was busy running around the entire time making sure everything went ok. The Sale page has been updated again. I bred all the senior tort does, so if they take I may pull them (or if someone wants to buy one I may sell them bred before they get too far along.)

Juniors listed on the sale page; Huntsville show

I've listed a bunch of nice juniors (show and pet quality) on the for sale page. I'll also be busy working this week at the Rocket City Rabbit Club's first real show. It's March 30th at the Agribition Center on Moores Mill Rd in Huntsville, AL. We think it's going to be a huge show, so come show your support or just come to look around and have fun!.

Scaling back on some seniors

Posted on February 9, 2013 - 5:00pm CST

I'm selling off some senior brood stock before the summer. This might be a great opportunity to grab up some nice animals to add to your herd. I'm also selling my pair of BEW Netherland Dwarfs. Check out the Sale Page for more info and updated pictures.

Here's a list of my show schedule for the near future:

February 16: Perry, GA (not showing, but will be training with Tanner Biggs)
March 2: Dalton, GA - I'll show something, but will also be training.
March 9: Florence, AL - Showing & training
March 30: Huntsville, AL (Rocket City Rabbit Club's first show, come support us!)
April 6: Lawrenceburg, TN

Training is for my registrar's license. I passed the ARBA exam in November, but still need to get my training in, all before the end of May this year!!

November Stuff

We've had a long break from shows, but we're about to have our last one (the All Southern) on December 1st. I'm taking at least one senior doe to sell. No other major news, just been doing a lot of breeding so hoping for some nice spring babies.

Another great show yesterday! We got the pleasure of having TL Andrews (a judge I always loved from Florida) up and he did Hollands in show 1. He didn't like mine as much but that's ok! I had a good time writing for him and talking! It was good competition. I still got a couple of legs and a BOSV with Kim's Ryoko.

Show 2 went better, we had Richard Roehr. Kim's Nariko got a 1st place leg (brk junior doe, it was her first show, at 3 months.) Bronco took first place out of 12 and went on to get BOV. Kim's Yoko took first place and went on to get BOSV and BOS (her first big win!) I was excited because neither of those solids are TORT. Bronco is bluetort, and Yoko is a nice SABLE POINT. So yay for colors!

Kim's Sakura took another first place and BOSV leg.

Today I'll be barn cleaning and doing a mass breeding for fall. No more shows until late November, or early December...

Had a great show yesterday! We were able to hold our first Rocket City Rabbit Club show (a single open) and we learned a lot but I think did a pretty great job.

In the TRPOA show I took BOS with Ren, a solid tort doe. In the RCRC show I took BOS with Sakura, a broken tort doe.

Our club got a small money boost from entries so now we can go forward and get sanctions for the next show (March 30, 2013 in Huntsville, AL.)
